Nutrition & Nurture

House of Moses

Meeting Physical Needs

The Nutrition & Nurture program (formerly Milk & Medicine) supports the physical needs of families by providing home-based supplemental feeding. This prevents abandonment through the provision of infant formula for babies, food and micro-nutrient supplements for children 1-5 years, prescription medication, social work services, and community savings programs. Households in severe poverty and affected by HIV/AIDS, who would otherwise be at risk of abandoning or institutionalizing their children, benefit from this program.

Strength through Social Welfare

The Nutrition & Nurture program also helps families work towards independence through job training and social welfare services including:

  • Community savings program
  • Job skills training
  • Positive parenting training
  • Childhood development and nutrition training
