Stand With the Vulnerable

The USAID stop-work order is disrupting essential services and development projects in both Malawi and Zambia, reversing years of progress in health, education, and economic development.

Along with countless other NGOs, ACE has experienced first-hand the consequences of the suspension of all American foreign aid. This suspension has directly affected ACE’s ability to fulfill our mission and vision to serve the most vulnerable in Zambia and Malawi.

This suspension of aid will have dramatic consequences on the ground in the countries where we work. ACE recognizes that those affected most by this aid suspension are vulnerable, women, children, and families.

Our goal is to raise $1,000,000 to help our programs fill the gap left by the USAID stop-work order.

The Impact on Our Communities

Zambia and Malawi are two of the poorest countries in the world and will experience the greatest hardship as a result of the USAID stop-work order.

Zambia
The loss of $66 million in US foreign assistance allocated for drought response, food security, and disease prevention will have far-reaching effects. The disruption in assistance could imperil programs that prevent malnutrition, distribute life-saving medications, and support smallholder farmers.

Malawi
Vital projects in health, agriculture, and education have been suspended due to executive orders. The loss of $284.7 million in US foreign assistance threatens to reverse years of progress in providing healthcare and food security.

Global Ripple Effects
Overnight, essential services have vanished, and countless workers lost their jobs, plunging the most vulnerable into deeper hardship. This drastic move has also crippled the ability to track infectious diseases, jeopardizing global health and safety.
