Betty’s story.

Betty was just three days old when she arrived at the House of Moses.

Just hours after her mother gave birth to her, Betty was abandoned at a local hospital. Despite efforts from the hospital staff and police, no one could find her mother. Without the protection of family, this baby girl faced a life-threatening lack of food, shelter, and care.

In Betty’s hour of great need, the ACE Family said ‘yes’ to protecting her life!

Your gifts immediately gave this newborn baby a warm bed, nourishing milk, and loving care at the House of Moses, our crisis nursery for orphaned and abandoned babies in Lusaka, Zambia. While Betty may never know our names, she will know that God’s family stepped in to make sure her body and spirit were protected from harm in her earliest days.

After a police investigation that lasted several months, no leads developed that could lead to the identity of Betty’s biological family. She was cleared for fostering or adoption, and soon saw the face of her adoptive mother for the first time. As Betty and her ‘mummy’ bonded through visits over several months, the happy day arrived when Zambia’s Department of Social Welfare approved baby and mother to go home, together.

Betty is now growing up with a mother who shows her love every day. ACE Family, you are part of their story forever.

Thank you for giving safe shelter to Betty in her first days of life, and the Gift of Family for a lifetime.
